Still hesitant which material to choose?

Cotton VS Wool

There is no better or worse choice between these two materials. They are just different. Cotton is the perfect choice for warm spring evenings. Extremely soft and pleasant to the touch, it gives incredible feelings of coziness and comfort. Wool is better for cool autumn and winter. Sweaters made of it are not only warm, but also very comfortable thanks to our special production technology.
Try both types of yarn and enjoy their benefits.

Cotton

Cotton is hypoallergenic. It is extremely soft and does not sting. Best choice for sensitive skin but, at the same time, cotton is less warm than wool.

Wool

Wool is definitely the right option to keep you warm even in the bitterest frosts. A bit dry to the touch, it will give you an unparalleled wearing experience.

Australia VS New Wool

The perfect characteristics of the materials that Yözh uses in production allow us to create unique sweaters. Woolen products of the Australia line are practical and easy to care for. Mega versatile, they will give you incredible comfort and confidence every day. And they can be washed in the machine without any problems, without worrying about the condition of the products.

New Wool is a more premium yarn. It is made of 100% natural Merino wool, so sweaters made of it are extremely warm and, at the same time, thin. And it is completely sustainable, as the production of this yarn does not harm the environment at all. Both types of yarn have their undeniable advantages. The choice is yours, but we recommend trying each one to determine your favorite :)

Facts and benefits of wool fiber

100% natural, renewable Australian Merino wool is biodegradable, renowned worldwide for its softness, durability, inherent versatility and technical excellence. The versatility of Australian Merino wool allows to produce things ranging from high fashion to sportswear, accessories, homeware and more.

100% natural

Wool in our products comes from 68 million sheep bred in Australia, pastured on the freshest air, the cleanest water and the greenest grass of the land.

100% biodegradable

After wool fiber is disposed of, it naturally decomposes in the soil over a period of some years, slowly releasing valuable nutrients back into the soil.

100% renewable

Australian sheep produce fleece all year round making wool a completely renewable material.

Keeps shape

Under microscope each Merino wool fiber looks like a coiled spring that returns to its initial shape after being deformed. This gives clothes made from this material the property of keeping their original shape.

Innovative

Fashion designers and clothing brands use a range of innovative yarn production methods and clothes manufacturing technologies to create unique textures for Merino wool garments.

Naturally breathable

Merino wool is one of the most breathable fibers. Wool fibers can absorb a large amount of moisture, and then release it to evaporate into the air.

Warm and cool at the same time

Unlike synthetics, Merino wool is an active fiber that reacts to changes in body temperature. So it helps you stay warm when the weather is cold and cool when the weather is hot.

Odor resistant

Merino wool absorbs moisture, vapors and odors from sweat released during wear which are easily eliminated by washing.

Soft to the skin

Merino wool fibers are extremely fine, allowing them to bend much more than traditional, stiffer wool fibers. This makes Merino wool feel soft and luxuriously gentle to your skin.

Naturally elastic

The natural elasticity helps Merino wool clothing stretch and then return to its original shape. So such clothes are ideal for an active lifestyle.

Easy to care for

Most Merino wool knitwear is machine washable and can be tumble dried, providing an easy solution to the common question of "How to care for my sweater?"

Stain resistant

Merino wool fibers have a natural protective outer layer that prevents stains from being absorbed. And since merino wool, as a rule, does not generate static electricity, less dust and lint stick to it.

Cotton facts and benefits

Yözh uses only the best cotton in its production.

Unlike artificial fibers such as viscose and polyester, cotton is natural and fully ecological. Processing cotton requires less energy than processing other fibers. Actually, all cotton needs is sunlight while it naturally grows into a fiber. Also cotton is a heat- and drought-resistant plant which does not require much irrigation, thus also saving water.

In addition, cotton is 100% biodegradable and even enriches the soils while decomposing.
On the other hand, synthetic fibers such as polyester are not and release heavy metals and other pollutants into the soil and groundwater after being disposed of.

So, one easy way to reduce pollution is to switch to cotton clothing. Moreover, it is very comfortable and practical.

What is Merino wool?

Australian Merino wool is the finest and softest wool in the world. Its natural advantages as a clothing material are truly unbeatable by any other fibers - natural or artificial.

Merino wool is a natural fiber which grows year-round on Merino sheep across Australia.
Australia also produces other types of wool used to produce woolen linen and other housewares but most suitable merino wool is for luxury clothing and sportswear.

Fashion designers love this unique fiber for its quality and versatility because nothing else feels like Merino wool, looks like Merino wool, or wears like Merino wool.

Different types of wool

Not all wool is the same. Some types are softer like cashmere while others are harder and suitable for carpets and linen. Wool can be split into three main categories based on the diameter (in microns) of a fiber. One micron is a millionth of a meter and the length of a fiber is measured in millimeters. These are the main measurements that determine the quality and application of wool.

  • Fine: The finest micron wool from Merino sheep is used for high quality soft fabrics and knitting yarns. Fine wool is highly valued by the world's leading fashion houses and is also used by Yözh.
  • Medium: Середнемикронная шерсть может быть получена из мериноса или изготовленная путем скрещивания одной породы с другой. Medium шерсть используется в различных тканых тканях одежды, вязании нитей и в мебели.
  • Broad: Broad wool is obtained from many different breeds of sheep known as “dual purpose breeds” as they are bred for both meat and wool. Broad wool is used in such products as carpets due to its strength and durability.

The average diameter of a human hair is between 50 -100 microns. Merino wool is typically less than 22 microns, which shows how soft this premium fiber is.
